While this is probably not what I’m actually going to wear on New Year’s Eve, since I plan on staying at home listening to jazz and sipping champagne with family, I think it would be a suitable look for another activity! I could see myself wearing this makeup to either a glamorous holiday party or for a night of dancing at a club.

#LOTD: Christmas Day
Christmas at my house is all about immediate family, good food, and good cheer. There are only 6 of us total at my house over the holidays, and so no real need to dress up more than usual. I decided to go very simple with my look.
On my eyes, I used Coastal Scents hot pots in Mai Tai and Chocolate Berry, on the lid and in the crease respectively. For face makeup, I just brushed my No. 7 Illuminator over my cheekbones. On my lips I swiped Make Up For Ever lipstick in N9 Copper Rose.
My top is a Patagonia Merino sweater that I received for Christmas a few years ago. I paired it with jeans and cozy socks, since I didn’t need to leave the house. For earrings, I wore sparkly rhinestone studs.
The necklace is one that I received as a present. It’s from a market in France. My bracelet was also a present, and I adore it! I’m not sure where it’s from, though.
I wish you all happy holidays!
Holiday Wishlist 2014
It’s the season for gift-giving for many people, and among all of the other blogging wishlists out there, I decided to make my own. I narrowed it down to just a few items, the ones that I would most love.
January Birchbox Sample Choice Comparison
For those of you not familiar with sample choice, it’s a program that began in August where Birchbox subscribers have the option to select a sample to be included in the next month’s box. Each month 3-4 samples are revealed and the sample you pick from that selection will replace one of your traditional 5 samples. This month, Birchbox subscribers have the chance to choose from three samples, or select one of two curated boxes.
First up, the three sample options. They’re all lotions this month, which personally makes me sad because I don’t need any more body lotion, and none of them seem that new and amazing.
November 2014 Birchbox Review
The Birchbox theme for November was “Giving”, which does make sense given that Thanksgiving is the major November holiday (although I’m definitely surprised that they haven’t used this theme already in the past). One of the things I was really excited about this month was the partnership with (RED). Birchbox donated $1 for every photo of the box shared on Instagram. However, the theme wasn’t apparent in any other aspect of the box.
November Favorites
November is over, and I’m actually glad. This month felt very empty because I couldn’t seem to focus on schoolwork, my job, or maintaining friendships. I’m fortunate it ended with Thanksgiving weekend, because I think that break was what I needed to restart and get back on track. This month’s products are somewhat focused around that rejuvenation.
