June 2014 Birchbox Review

I was almost as satisfied with this box as I was my first. There were several products that I was very glad to be introduced to!

This month’s theme was “Away We Go”: I like the idea of this theme, but since everything in Birchbox is sample-sized anyway, I feel like it wasn’t as well applied as last month’s. In a travel-themed box I’d have expected some multi-tasking products, maybe something intended for use after a long flight/drive or even products with ties to a specific location, but my box at least didn’t contain anything of the sort.

June Favorites

June is over, unfortunately, because this June was really great for me. It involved 5 wonderful weeks of my summer internship, a couple of baseball games, several books, a bunch of World Cup watching, froyo, and a lot of really beautiful summer weather. The following are my 5 favorite beauty products from this month. If I have a review for the product, it’s linked in the product name.

The Body Shop | Sorbet – Satsuma

This gel is so bright and summery smelling, and it has such a lovely texture. It also contains aloe, which was useful as I got sunburns on a construction site several times this month.

Kat Von D | Tattoo Eyeliner – Trooper

This is the eyeliner that singlehandedly made me realize why other people wear eyeliner.

Harvey Prince | Hello

I really can’t get enough of this perfume. I will definitely buy this as soon as my Birchbox sample runs out.

Olay Fresh Effects | Dew Over! Hydrating Gel Moisturizer

I’ve been loving this moisturizer because of how light it is. It also smells very fresh; perfect for both day and nighttime.

Vasanti Cosmetics | BrightenUp! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator

This month I’ve been getting back into exfoliating for the first time in ages. I did it in high school, but after I switched to some new products I guess I just forgot to buy an exfoliator. This one contains very small microcrystals that feel great on my skin and definitely gets the job done.

Here’s to an even better July!
